Hi All...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Been suffering through a cycle since 6/18/98. Started a 30 day Prednisone taper immediately at 60mg per day. Previousl cycle I started with an 80mg shot. Last cycle, I had ONE headache during my 6 week cycle. This cycle, I continued to have moderate ones everyday. Conclusion.....START WITH an 80mg. SHOT!!!! VERY IMPORTANT. I also take 480 mg of Verapamil, and FeverFew for the heck of it. As my Predisone taper ended and I still had headahces, I went back to the Dr. and he gave me the 80mg shot and a prescribed a "quick" 12 day taper. It's been a week now since the shot and the second taper. I've had Zero, NONE, Nada, Zilch headaches....no shadow, no nothing!!!!!!! I believe the shot broke the cycle. Prednisone is SO inexpensive and can make the difference between functioning and not! PLEASE try this if you haven't already. I realize everyone is different but it just might be your salvation! (The only side effect of Prednisne I experience is fluid retention which goes away immediately after the taper) I have taken every medication out there in the last 12 years. This really works. Oxygen is my pain killer so I don't have to worry about rebounds from pill painkillers.
