I too found out during the worst period of the current bout that after an Imitrex injection alone the C/H had tendency to come back rather quickly (say from 2 to 4 hours after the end of the first one). I found out that if i took a pill after the injection(100 g.Imitrex pill) I had at least 6 hours, but often more, pain and headache free.
After almost three months of the current bout it seems to slowly fade away. I'm on verapamil with 240 g. a day and Imitrex injections just when needed (1 every 2 or 3 days rightnow). Problem is that after 3 months of this treatment (and during the worst period I was up to 3 injections a day + some pills) I just feel like I moved the Empire State Building a few blocks all by myself........
