Like Bob said. Give the verapamil 10 days to get a good, stable level in your body. I, too, find that when a particular medicine works good during a cycle to prevent CH's (verapamil, sansert, prednisone, lithium), the CH's that manage to break through are more severe sometimes (especially at night). I had a "10" like you described not long ago, one of those 2:30 AM 'till dawn jobbers that left me a whimpering mass of gelatinous goo.
Hang in there bud, try to enjoy the "life between the headaches"!!!
