Hi,
Sorry to hear you're going through such a rough time and I really do know where you're coming from. No, you're not selfish at all. You're a mom and you're protecting your little girl from the angry outbursts and that's perfectly natural. Now, I've read all these responses and the one that really got me was your response to Claudette about your mother-in-law interfering. Man, I'd have a tough time with that one too. Mother-Son territory is pretty defined and treacherous to cross but it hubby is allowing it her to take over, there's really not much you can do other than to talk to him when Mom's not there.
The best learning I've gotten from my husband, Mike, is during cluster-free periods and asking him what he wants from me when he is under attack. Usually, it is to be left alone. When I see the Beast rise up, either Mike goes out of the room or I do. I quietly turn down the lights and noise and I sit. I wait. I listen. Yes, I've cried too out of frustration. And, yes, I've see the CH anger outbursts too. Nothing can prepare you or soothe you with regards to the anger and frustration that CH brings.
Sure sounds like hubby is full of chemicals and, to me, that's always scary because of the ensuing side effects, the worst one: depression. Have you ever considered treating him naturally? Mike has tried all the drugs with little or no relief and, after years of being a lab rat for the doctors, and because of this message board, we tried the water treatment. It literally BROKE the worst cycle ever with 2 days and completely ended it within a week. He has been CH free ever since (8 months and counting). I still see the droopy eye now and then but if he boosts his water intake, the Beast stays away. We've been very lucky that this treatment has worked for Mike. For more info on water, type "water" in the search button above and read the post from Dr. Jerry, "READ THIS", Oct./Nov. 1998. There are some precautions to take, and I'm not sure how the water would affect your husband's diabetes....read and learn.
This is getting too long for the Board, so I'll send you some more info via email. Feel free to contact me ANYTIME - that's what I'm here for!
Hang in there,
Hugs if you need them,
Margi
