The best thing you can do is let him know that you love him and that it's OK for him to want you no where near him when he is sick.
Also tell him it's OK for him to leave a special event etc when he's having a cluster. Your life doesn't have to end during a cycle.
Then make sure you live life to the fullest in between clusters.
