I am truly saddened by your story. All I can say is that what goes around comes around. He will get have his time. Do unto others as you would like done upon yourself.
I, like you, take people at face value and have paid the price on many occasions.
Don't loose faith. There are nice trusting people out there, you just have to be more careful. I stopped using a purse a long time ago. I just bring what I need.
Keep your faith, you sound like a very honest, kind person who happened to meet a thug with no regard for others.
