Although I've never been fired, I have been through quite a few jobs. Most of the time I thought it was the stress of the job that was causing the headaches so I left. Of course now I know that stress was not the problem. Also, people tend to treat you differently when they know you have a serious problem. Almost like they feel they can't depend on you. In my case this seems to go for friends, girlfriends and employers. At 44 years old, it is getting harder and harder for me to get excited about starting all over again. I will try again, though. I didn't live through this crap to give up now.
Material things may not be that important, but I would sure like to be able to make that determination based on real life experience.
