I haven't lost my job yet. but i work for a very large company. (no compasion) I've worked here for 25 years 12 of them with clusters. I was a supervisor but i had to drop down a level because of ch. I've had sinus surgery for my ch's (had a 5 year remission after first surgery 8 years ago)
missed 8 days for surgery, 6 for doctors visits and 2 days worth of hour here and an hour there so far this year.
I filed for FMLA and got it after having to go over my HR departments head to corporate. Both corporate and local HR personnel tell me to go out on full disability. Ia'm allowed 1 week for every year iv'e been here. but my FMLA will run out and so will my job security. I allmost never go below a 3 and have at least 2 8's a day.
Yesterday i worked from 12:00 noon till midnight and barely made it home with a 9. At about 4:30 am i gave up and took 1500 mg. of vicodan(at . usa.
I live for the few days i stay around a 3, my least 1 doctor knows what ch's are about) tossed, turned and paced till 7:00 when the phone rang.
Emergency at work had to go in and i'am still here at 8:30 pm eating crackers and a coke because i'am at about a 5 (screen fuzzy and bad grammar). hope i can make it till midnight when my shift is over. Iam the only maintenance mechanic on duty till then. This proves nothing but loyaltiy isn't returned anymore in corpfamily and freinds. I guess what i was trying to say is use every means (fmla, amer. disab. act and evry other means you can think of to make them keep you working. We deserve it.
