Dear Jackie:
Thank you for your reply. Yes, it sounds like we have similar CH histories. I guess this thing isn't just going to go away. I keep hoping it will. I think we have suffered long enough. What do you think? I used to use the Cafergot too, but it really didn't help me much after a cluster really got into full swing. I used to lose by appetite when I took it under my tongue. I do drink coffee in the a.m., but with cream. I will try it black at the very onset. Thanks for the suggestion. Have you ever tried Xylocaine nose drops? I have used for sometime now at the very onset. It seems to take away some of the sharpness of the pain. It certainly doesn't abort the headache, just makes it alittle more tolerable. Also, no aftereffects. I am very excited to learn about the success others are having with Imitrex. My mom has taken the oral version for about 3 yrs for migraine and it has given her much relief. My doctor suggested it to me last week. Guess I will try it. Do you know if the nasal spray works as quick as the injection?
I had a headache at 3:30 am today and another a 6:00 am (about 45 min. each) so I'm pretty tired now. Thanks again for the coffee tip. Maybe I can get my husband to whip up a pot for me!!?? Let me know how you're doing.
Regards...
