I was kept on Prednisone for 5 months at 60mgs a DAY by a neuro. It thin my skin, dented my nails, loss a bunch of hair, put on lots of weight, put a slight hump along shoulder, made cataracts grow in both eyes (the first time they tried me on it the cataracts started in one eye, but they never told me) and caused my immume system to stop working (I think called Cron's disease), and gave me the moon face right off the bat. I was so bad I had to hold on to things or I might fall.
I went to one doctor and he said I was steroid poisoned!! So he back me off very slowly. I still have some of the problems from taking the steroid, so long and so high a dose, and that was 4 yrs ago.
This was the second cycle they tried me on it, so why try me on it again? It didn't help me either cycle.
I never went back to that neuro...or will I ever again go to any neuro!! I got my best help at a pain clinic by an anesthesiologist.
