My advice to you is get off Prednisone, they are no good for you. Try Imitrex , it works great for me, It'll knock out that "residual pain" it did me.
Iam 40 and had my first cluster 3 years ago, It lasted 2 weeks with headaches in the evening only about 2-3 times a week. Had my second cluster beginning last week. Firday was the first time that it lingered all day, working its way to severe. Imitrex pills knocked it out. Saturaday it started to come on I took a pill and I felt like a new man. I can feel them coming on and when I do, I catch it before it gets severe. Good luck
