Insomnia BEFORE cycle started?

I suffered extreme insomnia for weeks prior to this last cycle starting. I do'nt recall if it happened before my other cycles because i did not keep good records.
I was wondering if maybe they are linked.
Has anyone else experienced this before their cycle started?
