I agree cable modems are ideal as long as you have a decent company. In the NW suburbs of Chicago we have been SUFFERING with TCI @ home service. The cable and the cable modems do not work a lot of the time so we cancelled...they continued billing us illegally for months after that. Had to go through a lot to get it off of my charge card! When we would try to call them at 2 am the hold times were STILL over 2 hours! It's really to bad since the speed was really fast when it worked but that wasn't often.
