I have tried several over the 25+ years. Demerol IM is the drug of choice for me. They have tried Talwin, made me sicker than before and my headache was still there, had to wait 4 hrs to get the Demerol they should have given me in the first place. Phenegran along with the Demerol is best. My parents use to keep Vistiral Im at home, my Mother was a Nurse and she gave me my injections. Stadol IM put me in this state that I could not move anything, not even talk. I knew everything that was going on in the room, but I couldn't get anyone's attention to let them know I was in serious trouble. NO STADOL For Me Thank You Very Much to you stadol users.
Midrin, Firionel??, Not much good. Dulling affect. Codeine made me sick, nothing for the pain in my head. Darvocet some relief. Mephregan works at getting you some much needed rest and for the pain also. Not too many doctors will write Rx for them, although will write for a few at a time, like 6 or 8. Haven't tried any of these in years. Hard for me to keep anything down in a pill form anyway, so not too good for me. Just the Demerol in the ER and it works for me. Just drastic measure to take. I am in so much pain, by the time I get there I just wish I were dead (20 minutes ago) Mine last longer that that peak period, so many times ER is what I have to do. Until the Imitrex IM & O2. Godsend to me.
I'm like most of you, I want something that is non-narcotic, so I can continue with my life without being all drugged up. That is like putting a bandade on a leak in the dam. It is only temporary.
