What comes to mind as I was reading your thoughts on different great figures of the Bible that had great sufferings, Job comes to my mind most often.

Just read Job.

Job lost all he had including 7 sons and 3 daughters, all his animals, his home, and if that wasn't bad enough he had boils from the soles of his feet to the top of his crown and not once did he turn away from God. Job was the most perfect (means mature in Christ) man in the East. God was sure of his lolality. Satan was so sure that when he caused all this suffering on Job that Job would curse God, but Job never did. In the end, Job had more sons and daughters, more animals, and was more wealthy than before.

That story comes to my mind everytime I start complaining about being sick or have problems. Job really had some problems and he stayed true to God no matter what came his way.

Thanks Richard for bringing that to my mind and especially after reading Elaine's story. Kind of makes me ashamed of complaining.
