before I got hooked up with the 02, my core defense was alternating cafegot and oxycodone (generic perscoset; a synthetic morphine in tylenol base, several notches up from Co-Tylenol in "strength, similar to Percodan, which is same thing in aspirin base, if I remember right)
the "regular" analgesics (ibuprofen, tylenol, etc do absolutely nothing for my CH - can't tell any difference whatever using them)
problem for me w/oxycodone was that I rapidly build a resistance (tolerance ?) to it and that is the jumpoff into the addiciton spiral - and for this forum I'm only addressing the addicition angle from the angle that it takes more to achieve less when that starts
then I'd switch back to cafegot for a while
PROBLEM with narcs:
I often get 6-7 attacks / day
obviously can't take the narcs EVERY attack
takes 15-25 minutes for the relief
by that time the attack is full blown
so, have to try to guess which attacks warrant the Rx usage
that's where the 02 is a miracle - I can use it for EVERY attack at the very beginning, without the declining effectiveness
