Thanks Amanda. I didn't think I was so off with this idea. If what you say is true about Law & Order, et.al., that would be great. How do you know? How did you get the inside scoop? I can understand why it wouldn't work with a sit-com---too short and, like the big "D" said, not enough people would recognize it. But why couldn't it happen in a drama or a soap opera? Just today I was watching a soap and a character may have TB. AIDS has been on a soap, and cancer, and many other illnesses. (No, I don't watch soaps all day.....just during my haitus from teaching in the summer months) I see the possibility, just don't know how to do it.
