I’m in remission, at the moment. But I have no trouble remembering the bad old days. The Demon attacked at 11:30 p.m. and ended his attack at 6:45 a.m. the next morning for ten weeks. I think that knowing when an attack will begin and when it will end is a big break. The beginning of the attack never catches you by surprise and you know that all you have to do is to tough it out, minute by eternal minute, and the agony will be gone completely, as though it was just a figment of your imagination. I know that there are some victims of the beast who have left-over pain, but not me. In fact, one of the things about my clusters that has always weirded me out is how so much pain can simply disappear so totally and not leave a single sore or aching spot..
