I had a particularly nasty period when my daughter was about 6. I really didn't want her to witness my jekyl/hyde transformation. One night while tucking her into to bed, a bad headache struck with no warning. I was immediately on the floor banging my head. She was startled; but soon got out of bed and comforted me. While I don't recommend setting up a situation like this, my daughter handled it well and being comforted by a child is an incredible experience.
