All I can say is a macho guy thing doesn't play a factor in my not wanting my wife to help when I'm getting hit. It's a pain thing!!!! Do not make me concentrate on talking or listening when I've got a HA. It's all I can do to endure the pain and come out standing (or sometimes crawling). Believe me, if there was something that could be done to help me I would have asked for it long ago.
