Hi Everyone,
I want to thank those of you who encouraged me to come back here. I guess I'm back, and I guess I'm asking for your help. The surgery I had recently did NOT trigger a cluster episode, (but I am having shadows which I was before surgery.) Forgive me, but my question is not techincally cluster related. The surgery necessitates that I sleep in one position, on my back, and this has seemed to trigger a severe, burning horrible pain in my right thigh. My surgeon says it's not her department and my regular doc prescribed muscle relaxants which didnt help either. He said that it may be a pinched nerve or surgical neuropathy. I'm trying to find out something about this but all I can find is diabetic or AIDS related neuropathy. The symptoms seem the same, the sensation of touch replaced by the sensation of severe, burning pain. What frightens me is that it can be caused by the nerve endings being in Oxygen deprivation and this can lead to nerve cell death which can make the pain chronic. Can anyone tell me anything relating to this condition? It seems to ease if I stand or sit upright, but if I sit on a couch or lie on the bed, the pain comes back with a vengeance. Impossible to rest, which is the thing I need the most. The lack of rest is making my shadows worse, which is even more scary since I am fearing a CH episode. I am completely exhausted and puzzled as to what to do next. I have a call in to my Doc, who is the best Dr. I have ever had, but in the meantime I'm stressing and hoping for some support and constructive ideas. Wishing pain free days to all, Thanks for letting me vent, Annie
