Sounds like a CH to me. Really honey, he's not being "unusual" just normal for a Chead. We all get in these "moods" from time to time. BUT that said, HE's got to make up his mind to LISTEN and try new and old things BEFORE he can help himself.
That you CARE is apparent, but sometimes, it's better to just "let it be" for a while. We get so disgusted when "everthing we try" doesn't work that we go into a depression. It WILL pass, but just takes time. I'm back to trying stuff that worked and idn't work in the past. Sometimes, just sometimes out of the blue something will work for a while. My opinion of herbal, vitamin, and natural rememdies is, "it can't hurt." but it's depressing when it doesn't help. We told you we're a weird bunch of screwballs.
Let him ride out his depression - just don't get depressed with him. There are a few docs that we have VERY strong opinions about. I have my LIST too.
I know it's hard to watch and not be able to "get through" to him, but give him some space. If it gets too bad - get away from him for a while. But just be there when HE reaches for you. Then he'll be ready for help.
Sorry there's no magic pill to help, but maybe someday.....
