Yessir, Read the medical info on the left of page and recent break through CH findings. You will find the article here at chs.com. I have heard of people remembering some incidences closely after getting their first cluster headache or CH. I remember a posting ( I think ) now probably in the Archives on left of page. Some of us have had head trauma at some time in our lives; some serious and some who got wacked on the head by something.
When I was nine years of age, I fell of off a two section high scaffolding playing around a construction sight. The fall was 10 feet down, landed flat on my back including my head. It was a jolt but I passed it off as no big deal. A week or so later while I was walking back to a tree house we built in a wooded area. I woke up in the hospital. Turned out to be a head trauma related epileptic sezure.
May be there is some kind of connection. Others make connections with surgery, illness, etc. But it is difficult to decipher fact from coincidence. After all, many people get wacked in the head, have major oral surgery, fall and do not get clusters.
Recent findings in England by a one Doctor Goadsby, I think, found
that the Hypothalymus of CH sufferers have a high density of grey matter cells. This could eliminate any incident that happened before or in the past in connection to Cluster Headaches and the first occurance of this disorder. But much is yet to be learned by research scientist. We represent a large part of the general public, all different and we try to find commonalaties, provide info and support, and yes as you probably know, tricks, tips, humor, and friendship and a strong bond we all have in common. Support and recognition among the Doctors and the general public. WHEW! it took 20 min. to type this. Need to practice... Pain free days,DC
