I was interested to know that others have found some relief with over the counter medications. I have used Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine for along time to help ease the pain of my cluster headaches. It contains chlorpheniramine maleate (2 mg.) I only take one (dissolved in water) when I first feel a H/A starting.. I believe that because it is dissolved in water it probably gets into the blood stream quicker. I strongly recommend it. I have used many prescription pain killers over the years, but they all leave me feeling drugged.This one only leaves me alittle sleepy.
