When a series of attacks are on, not drinking alcohol makes no difference. When I have an evening out and drink heavily I get no attacks at all.
I don't know about the mechanism involved; I only know that my first ever attack started two weeks after I decided to cut down on my alcohol consumption. I still stick to that, apart from my monthly night out and special days.
Maybe the type of alcohol matters too? I drink either wine or whisky; beer soon gives me a headache-ordinary type.
