when I menstrate my cluster headaches get more frequent and more severe in intensity. My neuro had recomended the pill as one option but I declined. Then she recomended Diamox (antiseizure drug) and said it had some success with treating menstral triggered headaches. I tried it last month and didn't have much luck. I am waiting to try it again this month. All I can say is I kept a chart of when I got my headaches, frequency, intensity, what I ate, if I was sick, and my menstral schedule. Every month since Feb. when mine started back up I have been in the er with unrelenting pain at that time of the month. Coincidence?
I used to have epilepsy for many years and they would always get worse around menstration time and increase in frequency. I was on the pill then and actually thought that it helped keep my seizures under control except when I would quit taking it for the 1 week. Any further questions feel free to email me directly.
