He has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and has just celebrated his 24th birthday. He wasn't supposed to survive past the age of 21. John cannot feed himself, use the bathroom himself, drive his own wheelchair, can barely talk, can't move his legs at all, and is now fed through a stomach tube. He is in constant pain which no narcotics seem to take away. At 5'11" he weighs 69 lbs. I look and him and believe it or not sometimes thank God that I've only had to deal with CH.
