First, let me say for the first time in my relatively short, but colorful, headache history, "yup, me too."
I've never been able to say that to anyone because noone seems to have ever been through what I've been through,
until I read your message. So, for that, a hearty Thank You!

As far as the amatryptaline vs. verapamil, I had much better luck with the verapamil, but as I am sure you have
read here, the results of anything positive (besides just time) fade quickly. I had about a month of 50% pain-relief
from the verapamil, and none from the amatryptaline. I have found that moving to a new known efective treatment when the
original starts to fade works pretty well. I.e. I fade off prozac while starting verapamil, then back.

Just a thought, since I, too, hate the combined side effects of taking any drug for too long a stint. This method allows
me numerous "drug holidays" throughout the year.

Good luck and pain free!
