I’ve been taking both Fiorinal (comes with aspirin and caffeine added) and Fioricet (comes with Tylenol and caffeine added) since 1983. It has a generic form calledButalbital. It works really well against bad headaches (won’t touch a cluster headache, though, in my unhappy experience). However, if you’re planning to take it and sleep, be sure that your doc specifies the caffeine-free version. Butalbital is supposed to be both addictive and to cause rebound headaches So, if you have a doctor willing to prescribe it, lucky you! Some doctors simply refuse to prescribe it, even though it works, in order to save you from yourself.
