I went to fill my Imitrex injections July 14. I was told I could have 3 kits (6 injections) for my 30 day supply. I have spent the last month trying to get around this. I asked my Dr. to write a letter of medical necessity. The first one was useless. The second one said I could have 5 kits in 30 days. (My Dr. never has understood these things). A week ago, I was finally able to get a letter that said I needed 20 kits in 30 days. The ins. co. is still processing it, and now I am one month later, so can get my 3 kits again. In the meantime, I have been shelling out $93.50 per kit out of my own pocket, putting it on my credit card. I have no idea what I will do when the bill comes. My ins. agent tells me I will be reimbursed once the ins. co. approves, but who knows. Last I heard (yesterday) my case was up in medical review, where a Dr. would decide. What do you want to bet he/she knows nothing of clusters? For years the problem has been getting the Dr. to call in the scripts regularly (since you can't get an appointment with them anyway, and you're really not dealing w/ the Dr., but the nurse, who says, "Lets see, that was for migraines, right?"), and now this. SO FRUSTRATING! I do know one thing. From now on I stockpile. I will go get the script filled every month, even out of cycle. My insurance company is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Rat Bastards!

P.S. DJ's Imitrex tips have been my savior! With the $$ coming out of my pocket, and I'm getting 4-6 HA per day, this tip was timely and very useful.
