It's Larry Newman -- he's now at Roosevelt-St. Luke's in NYC. Very sweet, very understanding, suffers from migraines, at least, himself.
I suffered from serious migraines from about 16 on, which transmuted in 40's to chronic paroxysmal hemicrania (I think) (symptoms just like cluster -- I used to set my alarm clock for every hour and a half at night -- to no avail, needless to say). Treated with calcium channel blockers, not very successfully. (In initial stage of change-over, got allergy-type symptoms. Allergist administered histamine as a control and I passed out.) During treatment, I went into serious migraine status (is that the right term?), which was treated with prednisone, among other drugs. Finally diagnosed with hemicrania continua and treated successfully with indomethacin. I am convinced it's related to hormones and fluctuation of hormones in perimenopause. For any women out there with similar patterns, the headaches abated with menopause!
