I'm episodic two to three times a year. I'm on my second cycle with verapamil. It prevented my spring cycyle, and I had to start my fall dosage early because I felt the shadows creeping up on me. Anyway my dosing has been as follows:
240 mg sustained release
1/2 pill for seven days
1 pill for seven days
1 1/2 for duration of cycle

I use the same taper to come off. I know there are other people using much higher dosage, but my research has found 360 to be a good number for most. Less tends to be ineffective, and some people have to go much higer to get results. I would try to get by on 240-360 if you can. My doc said you need to give it a few weeks to get built up though so don't get discouraged if you don't get results immediately.

Regards to the cold one. I just flat out gave the stuff up. I would love to have a beer, but it just aint worth the pain. I take verapamil to prevent HA, why would I drink a beer to cause one?

Good luck
