Boris,

Many people on this website have mentioned changes in their usual pattern of cluster headaches. I noticed a change in my most recent cycle which lasted longer than usual, but was overall less severe than many of the ones that I've had in the past. Your 4 to 5 day intermissions makes me think that you are on the downslope, and getting ready to break the cycle. I don't think that the pain in your neck is causing the CH's, I think that it is the other way around. One of the horrendous byproducts that we experience is the physical exaustion and the emotional trauma which increases the stress level, and seems to feed on itself.

It is very scary, and very lonely dealing with the unknown.

I would suggest that you keep going diligently with the things that you know works for you. Experiment with yourself when you are inspired to try something new.

When I am in cycle, I get depressed because I feel that my life has been taken away from me. I do the best that I can, and I hold on to the belief that things are going to get better. Then if I have another setback, I tough it out and make whatever alterations that I need to make in order to cope with the day-to-day reality of my condition. For me, sometimes it's better to stick to a difficult schedule, and to deal with my commitments as best as I can. Other times, there is no other realistic choice than to throw in the towel, cancels plans, and let the chips in my life fall where they may.

All The Best,

Donald
