I am a teacher and supervise other teachers (semi-administrative position). Haven't decided if my chs are caused by the stress related to my job or not. I took a 2 year "leave" for family reasons and was not hit with chs. This past spring, I was hit with ch for the first time since fall of '95, with '95 -'96 being my last year of teaching until '98 - '99. Don't know if there's a correlation or not. As for chs on the job, I have only had one ch while teaching this past spring. Went to the nurse's office, took an Imitrex shot, paced and rocked until it left, then had someone drive me home. I get very tired and lethargic even after a 5 minute ch that's been aborted by Imitrex. Would never be able to teach in that condition or with a ch. My students already laugh at me (or is it with me)!! Think what they'd do if they saw me in a full-blown ch!! You should have heard the comments they made the next day ---- "Mrs. O, mom and dad want to know what kind of shots you're doing.......Mrs. O, I didn't mean to make you so upset that you cried.....Mrs. O, I have a headache today. Can I used one of your 'shots'?"
I have jr. high LD and ADD/ADHD students. Oh, from the mouths of "babes".....
