Kathy, I have had cluster headaches in usual intervals for 27yrs. Sounds to me like your husband should see another doctor! Currently I am taking lidocaine and is giving me relief of pain within minutes, but sleepyness hangs with me all day, difficult to stay alert.Good luck and stay supportive........ Rick
