I am 52-had CH for over 30 years. Duration 3 months.
Pain free 11 to 18 months. Last ones are the worst and
they just stop dead. I get 1-2 attacks a day. To
prevent this I start with 1mg of ergotamine and one
sansert per day increasing to 4 of each per day as
headaches worsen. Frequency and severity reduced by
75%
Breakthroughs-2mg ergotamine sublingual, one shot of
stadol,ice cold cloth.
More severe-add 1-3 25mg tablets of leritine(narcotic)
If vomiting occurs before leritine is absorbed
(25 mins) I inject Imitrex (always works)
Use last because I have had rebound headaches.
Will try modifying injector for half shot

For "killer" attacks close on the heels of a previous
attack where everything else has been tried and I have
reached a point after several hours where I am
considering the hospital I have 100mg injectable
Demerol. Have not got that for in the last two episodes
but it is comforting to have it rather then suffering
for an hour or more in the waiting area of a hospital
at 3 in the morning.
