hi dan, i used to have the same problem. i was afraid to go to the store, or my daughters soft ball games. i became more and more depressed. then i found something that worked great to abort or kill the HA . for me it was imitrex injections, the're 6mg of pre loaded relief. the auto injecter kit is so simple, all you do is load a dose into a spring loaded cartridge, about the size of a magic marker with a button at one end. press it against your leg and push the button. my worst clusters were gone in under 10 mins every time. they gave me the confidence to go where i wanted, when i wanted. these aren't needed for the shadows your having, but if they work as well for you, you won't have to worry as much about a full blown attack. they are very expensive, so after my clusters seemed to lessen in severity, i switched to the nasal spray. it is cheaper, and not quite as effective, but good enough for my needs. there are risks if you have heart problems. and as always what works great for one person may not for another. talk to your dr.. i tried the pills first, and found them to be to slow to be of any use to me. since i found something that is so dependable, i feel like i've gotten my life back. good luck, don't get too down, it just takes time to find the right thing to make it easier to get through these things. it took me two yrs to get the right diagnosis.
