I stopped smoking 12 years ago, Cleaned up my lifestyle in general, eat healthy, run to stay in shape etc. and they still come. When I did smoke it made them worse. I wouldn't smoke during a CH. But always after. Since I was getting screwed like that I thought I'd better have an afterglow cigarette. It's the same with all triggers for us episodal types. We can eat drink and do pretty much as we please when were not in a cycle, but when that cycle comes a dogfart might set one off.
Now there are a couple trains of thought on the subject of smoking. One being that if you get lung cancer or emphysema it will cut your cluster suffering way back...
A nice warm handshake to ya.
