Usually 1 to 2 weeks before I enter cluster cycle, I get a few telltale shadows. Not severe pain, just enough to tell me that shortly, I will be in hell for 6 to 8 weeks, (luckily, I get out for up to a year, good behaviour?) When in the cycle, shadows tend to be persistent, especially in the morning hours, as though the full blown attack just refuses to leave completely. I don't know what all this means. It's just my tale of the shadow.
