Hi again! I discovered that the prednisone therapy prolonged my cluster cycle. My doctor at the time used to tell me that once I had gone 2 weeks without a headache I should taper the prednisone and discontinue if headaches stayed away. Well, this would sometimes go on for months and months, one time 12 months. I remember thinking, yeah the prednisone pretty much stops the darn things, but whats going on here - why is is so dragged out? When I stopped using prednisone (you may remember all the terrible things it did to my body over the ten years I was using it) - It was terrific, the cluster spell lasted only (?) 6 weeks - 3 months at the most. My only reasoning is that these darn headaches must have to find a way to manifest themselves, and when one tries to stop them they just figure out a way to get their way with you! Hope I haven't scared you, but I would hate for others to suffer with the prednisone as I did. I only had 1 headache last week, I am sooooo elated. I think they are almost gone for now, I hope. This cycle lasted about 7 weeks, but I better not count my chickens......Take care
P.S. You probably know this, but our bodies go through some withdrawl when stopping the prednisone, perhaps some of what you feel is withdrawl.
