gary, I haven't seen to many say they have swelling besides the eye swelling.

I have swelling in about the same place as you, during and after an attack. The crease that comes down both sides of our noses disappears, from all the sweelling, on the attack side 'only'. I also have swelling in the temple and neck on that side.

But this is strange...the congestion of the nose is on the opposite side of the pain??

No warning, but once I start to feel it within 5 mins or less it's full blown, backs down the sameway.

I had never heard the word shadow before reading the board but I now think I have been living in the shadow world the last 4 yrs with attacks starting back up after the cancer surgery in May.
Had a bad one half hour after getting up this morning. The shadow is still there.
Is there everyday and night, sometimes worst than others. Always worst after an attack.
This cycle is different as the attacks are during the day or first thing in the morning, rather than all the other cycles that came at night.

I'm being to think I'm 'somewhat chronic' (no I'm not saying I'm like you chronic people, so don't get me wrong) but something is keeping me in the shadows most all the time. Then something happens to start the cycle of attacks.
I'm on Indocin and get steroid injections.
