one of the most basic techniques !

A. temporal -
pad of index finger in small hollow immediately forward of center of the ear (right in front of that little protruison - is it the tragus ?)

push down & hold

stops early stage & minor attack pain cold
release & it comes right back
continue until attack is past (minor attacks) or until attack "outgrows" this and you move on to other therapies

B. carotid

under jawbone, outboard of esophagus
push in with pads of a couple fingers until you feel a heavy pulse in a BIG artery - push harder
this can shut off a more severe attack for a short time (several seconds)which is often enough to produce the "breakup" effect that helps get through them

careful though - there isn't much marging here between shutting off the attack and shutting yourself off

possibly permanently

use at your own risk
