Marilyn, Welcome to the site. It has also been a godsend for me. I am fortunate to have a internist-friend who will try "most" anything. He heard and read about intranasal capsaicin also. I believe most of its use has been in Europe. Unfortunately, he can't find the appropriate combination of drugs to use. You can't use straight capsaicin in your nose. I'll post if I find this formula.

In regards to the Lidocaine drops... You need 4% Lido mixed by the pharmacy into a nasal spray or dropper bottle. I find the spray easier. You need to lay flat with your head slighter hyperextended and tilted to the side of the pain. The drops are placed in the nostril located on the side of the pain. It is actually attempting a sphenopalatine block. In other words, blocking a nerve pathway temporarily. I receive some relief, though never complete. Every bit helps in knocking down the pain.

I hope this helps some. I wish you the best!
