I took my 1st Imitrex today (25mg tab). I found this
sight Wed., read all I could, (couldn't sleep any way)
and having tried most everything (ergotamine, caffergot,
O2, sansert, and some others I can't even remember) over
the last 23 years, I went to my GP and asked him about
Imitrex. He told me it was expensive. I told him money
is the farthest thing from my mind when the band is
playing. So I waited for them to start warming up (they
usually give me plenty of warning) and popped one. Well,
the lights went out, the band went home and I was able to
get 8 hrs. sleep. It's been exactly 12 hrs. now and I'm waiting
to see what happens next. Sure feels good now. I know
I can't get my hopes up too much because this has happened before
with the other meds but nonetheless, I want to thank
everyone here for the insight and support on this site.
I'm 3 weeks into this cycle after two years of no CH's,
and probably a couple weeks to go yet but knowing what I
know now and seeing all the support here, I think I can
make it through this bout. I'm staying on my Inderal (60mg/day)
as it seems to control them a little, but I know I'm not
out of the woods yet. Again, thanks to all, and I'm sure
I'll be back (hopefully without the band!!) WR
