Well guys, hope you all are having a CH free evening as I am so rarely having. Gee, it scares me to say that..I may jinx myself. I am one of those people who have not been on line here since last Nov. 9th, however I do have my husband or son print out all new messages, etc. every day. I have a notebook full of this great reading material. If you read my last years message you'll see that I am now a 48 yr. old female, non-smoker, no alcohol ever, lots of H2O, exercise, etc. but I have suffered the DEMON for over 30 odd years. And guess what they have not gotten better only more severe and more frequent. Last year they started in early October and went through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I only had maybe 3 good weeks and they were back again for more months and the cycle has repeated the same ever since. I stated in my last message that the only relief I had found after every antidepressant, beta-blocker, sinus meds and a list of over 100 test drugs and many, many specalists and much $ later that Stadol was my only small consolation. And I know what people say about this narcotic but it does work in those early morning hours when you can't get to the ER and the nausea and hot and cold (shivering) starts. I found that I cannot take it full strength so I would fill the vial with 1/2 the med and 1/2 distilled water, when sprayed in the right nasal passage it would numb the pain. During the day I used
tylenol #3 when needed to get me through my work day. I now need to find another Dr. in the Va. area who will prescribe the Stadol spray because the Dr. I first used retired and moved to Fla. and the latest Dr. of 5 years can not prescribe narcotics now because of a problem he encountered, not related to me. Also one more thing, sorry this is so long-winded, but when I first was given the Stadol Nasal Spray to use I got it as samples, as many as they had..no problem..but since some Dr's teenage son killed himself about 2 or so years ago the FDA (who have never had a CH) decided to make it a more than ever controlled RX. What they failed to bring up in the investigation was the son was also on a ton of illegal drugs at the same time..Go Fiqure. They had to blame it on something.
Also one more thing I did not mention in my last posting, my headaches always start with a burning in my right nostril and are always, always right-sided. thanks for you listening...I will be back to write but I promise it will not be this long.
