Hi Penny-
Sorry to hear you husband is one of us, but you should be glad you found ch.com---it's the best place in the world for sufferers and supporters.
Please read all the medical info and other things on the green bar to your left. You might also want to cruise through the archives---tons of useful info there also.
I agree with Frank---untreated, the demon is beyond brutal, beyond excrutiating. A few quick suggestions-have him place an ice pack or bag of frozen peas on the temple from which the pain radiates. Stick his head in the freezer and breath in the cold air. And please, if you feel it is warranted, take him to the ER. Tell them he has clusters. If they don't know what to do (and that is unfortuantely likely) Imitrex injections help many of us and demorol can often at least knock him out so he 'sleeps' through it. Oxygen is also very helpful for many, but most say it doesn't work once the pain reaches a Kip-10 (see sidebar). Also, O2 must be given at a 10 l/m rate, which many docs think is too high.
I'm sorry your a member of our family, but we'd love to have you join in now and help us work towards killing the Demon once and for all.
