I'm in my fourth day of taking Verapamil (240mg-slow release) and it appears to be working, so far. Ive not had a headache yet since starting it, apart from minute twinges on the first day. I haven’t gone three days (or two for that matter) without a headache since being on Morphine when I had my appendix out a few years ago. I am very surprised that it has worked this quickly. Should I be? You may think that four days is too short a time to claim that it is working, but I usually get between two to six a day-every day!

I'm not getting my hopes up too much because I know that many people have experienced a return of the beasts while taking Verapamil. Nevertheless, Ive got this web site and the people of this message board to thank for three pain free days at least!!!! It was the information on this site and your replies to my
posts a couple of weeks ago that enabled me to convince my Doctor at the hospital that I indeed suffered from CH’s, and persuade him to give me a prescription for Verapamil while I was waiting to see the neurologist. At last, after nearly four years things are looking up.

Best Wishes

G.
