Sorry to use the board for non-CH stuff, but I wanted to update my friends. My 'normal' email is down until further notice. Gov. Bush has declared a state of emergency for the entire Atlantic Coast of Florida. My company has shut down for at least the next two days, and taken precautionary actions---which include shutting down the servers, hence, no email.
At this point, best guesses are that Floyd will likely hit down near Miami, which puts our good friend Kip (and Judy) uncomfortably close to the action. Here in NE Fla, we are still a possible direct hit zone. Regardless, the least we can expect (so they say) is 75 mph. winds. The Mayor has told us to pack tonight - he will make the evacuation decision Tues. morning.
My house is 3 1/2 miles as the crow flies from the beach, making me the 2nd area to be evacuated should that decision be made.
Now, several comments:
1) Please don't anyone worry. That sucker heads towards me and I'm outta here! No false bravery here.
2) Please don't take board space should anyone feel the need to comment - email me at the above address.
3)KIP! - If Floyd heads towards you and not me, you and Judy are more than welcome to come stay here til it's over.
Okay, kids. Keep your eyes on the weather reports and your fingers crossed for we Floridians. This storm is bigger, stronger and better formed than Andrew, which you may remember devastated South Florida a few years back-- about 25 deaths and $26 Billion (with a B) in damage.
Thanks for your thoughts,
KTSSU,
Todd
