I have had a couple of occasions during the heat of battle that have prompted me to smile. On one occasion, I was in the living room, alone, at 12:30 in the morning, quietly battling a level 10.(I battle quietly). At that time, my O2 was delivered via a nasal cannula. So I was sitting there, runny eye, runny nose, and I thought of the suggested use of frozen peas. I had to drag my E-tank into the kitchen in the dark, feel around in the freezer with the other hand, and try to find what I was looking for. No peas. All I could find at the time was a bunch of grapes that my 12 year old son had put in there for a hot day's snack. After I dragged myself back to the chair, I put the grapes on my neck with one hand, held my head with my other, and leaning foreward felt tears dripping and snot running onto my leg. I must have had an out of body experience, because I got a great image of what I must have looked like. I laughed out loud, pain and all. (The grapes don't help much---they're too big and hard, but they feel great when the beast is trying to pull that tooth!)
