I've been seeing an acupuncturist who uses magnets
for particularly nasty spasms in my back..(I have a
herniated disc). She claims that the magnets will
release the spasm. It really does work if they're left
on for at least 15-20 minutes. The magnets she uses
are on the inside of suction cups and are sharply pointed.
My back was looking pretty strange--covered with blood
blisters. They worked for a short time on my back spasms,
but she never tried them for my CHs. One interesting thing,
was when she was treating my CHs she inserted the needles
all over my head AND right above my eye which was really
uncomfortable. After 20 minutes on electricity, she told
me that she really needed to drain the "bad blood". I was
somewhat leary of this procedure but told her to go ahead.
She peirced the top of my ear with a large needle and began
squeezing the blood out and pouring alcohol on the area. I'm not
sure if it worked or not, but I found her notion of "bad blood"
collecting near the pain center interesting.
